Your safety comes first
Loan Market is built around privacy and consent. Here's exactly what we do — and what we don't do.
Please read
Loan Market is a marketplace and contact-introduction platform. Loan Market does not lend money, broker loans, arrange mortgages, provide financial advice, verify borrower information, guarantee approval, negotiate terms, underwrite loans, or participate in loan transactions.
Our commitments
Plain statements about how the platform works.
Loan Market does not lend money
We are not a lender. No loan on this platform comes from Loan Market.
We don't broker or arrange loans
Loan Market does not broker, approve, underwrite, recommend, or arrange loans. We provide an introduction only — any loan agreement is strictly between the borrower and the lender.
No document uploads
We don't ask borrowers to upload financial documents or identification to post a request.
Borrower contact info is hidden
A borrower's phone and email stay private until the borrower approves a specific lender's contact request.
Lenders show their licence number
Lenders provide a licence number that's displayed as self-reported. Loan Market does not confirm it — each listing links to the regulator so you can check it yourself.
Do your own due diligence
Always research any lender or borrower independently and review all terms carefully before agreeing to anything. The decision is yours.
What Loan Market is — and isn't
- An introduction platform that connects borrowers with licensed lenders.
- A privacy layer that keeps borrower contact details hidden until approval.
- A place where lenders show a licence number you can confirm with the regulator yourself.
- We are not a lender and do not provide funds.
- We do not broker, approve, underwrite, recommend, or arrange loans.
- We do not give financial, legal, or tax advice.
- We do not verify, vet, or endorse lenders, or confirm their licences.
Safety rules & your responsibilities
These apply to everyone who uses the platform.
- No document uploads. The platform does not accept financial documents or ID, and you should never try to send them.
- Do not share your SIN, bank login, passwords, tax documents, pay stubs, bank statements, or ID documents through the platform.
- Do not pay upfront fees to receive a loan. Be cautious of anyone who asks for one, and report it.
- You are responsible for your own due diligence on any borrower, lender, offer, or agreement.
- Lenders are responsible for their own licensing, advertising, disclosure, and legal compliance.
- Loan Market may suspend or remove users or listings for safety reasons.
